Christmas Social 2006

The Christmas Social on 10th December 2006 once again the Christmas Social was a great success. This was the second year that this event has been held by the Association at the Queen Elizabeth Public house in Chingford. The increase in the numbers of Old Egbertians was most encouraging and it was good to see so many wifes and partners attending- we will soon have to take over the entire bar! Forty six members attended together with their partners which as I understand is probably the best yet and bodes well for the future of this event. People came from as far away as Lowesoft and Brighton which was a tremedous effort and everybody seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The Queen Elizabeth provided its usual comprehensive buffet and due to the proximity of the bar made for a very enjoyable time. The occasion enabled the Old Egbertians to meet old and new friends and capture the festive mood. Our thanks must be expressed to Ron Fellowes for arranging the buffet. Everyone departed looking forward to next year!
